Jumping: a Novel won Hampton Roads Publishing’s Next Best Fiction Writer contest in 2013. It will be published in November of 2014 and will be available at bookstores across the country.
It is the story of a void, a deep and dark chasm in the ground hidden in the woods of southern New Hampshire and tended by a local tribe of Native Americans. It has haunted the residents of the nearby town of Dexter for generations, troubling their sleep, calling them to its edge. The adventure begins with the first person who answers the call, twenty-one year old Duncan Robert, and his uncle Miles and the journalist, Babe Bennett, who follow him. They jump not knowing what they will find inside and whether they will return. The spiritual journey that ensues takes them across time and place to meet the forces that shape their lives, changing them and their relationships forever.
